Trade

★★★★★Ella Dorman-Gajic’s bold and brilliantly written play Trade tackles the subject head-on, giving the audience a horrifyingly realistic view of the European sex-trafficking industry… Fierce, unapologetic and gripping, Trade is a vital and timely piece of theatre.” - West End Best Friend

Jana is on the cusp of adulthood; she’s started dating her first boyfriend and is getting ready to move to London, to provide for her family. But when she wakes up in a basement in Sarajevo, it is clear that life doesn’t always follow the plans we make for it.

This “unflinching, unapologetic” (Queer Review) play plunges us into a “murky and perilous world”, told through the eyes of a morally complex young woman.

Complex, challenging and more than a little surprising… Trade is a dark, haunting play in many ways, yet there is also light and humour sprinkled through it.- The Queer Review.
